Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - A man was found wounded by gunfire at a business and died at the scene Wednesday night, investigators said.
Officers from the Monrovia Police Department arrived to the scene in the 400 block of West Duarte Road after being called to a shots fired report at 8:19 p.m. The man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The time of death was pronounced at 8:26 p.m., according to Monrovia Police radio traffic. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau arrived to take over the investigation and canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence. Investigators have not revealed the type of business the man was shot at. Monrovia officers have been in contact with the business owner who was called to the scene. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - Two people were hospitalized after at least one suspect opened fire on them near Huntington Drive and Mayflower Avenue Saturday night. The victims were shot on the street as they neared a McDonald’s, 480 W. Huntington Dr., just before 10 p.m. December 5. The victims fled in a vehicle and wound up at a residence where police and paramedics converged to provide aid, according to Monrovia Police radio traffic. One victim may have been shot in an arm, the second victim may have been shot in the back, according to preliminary information. It is not clear how many crime scenes there may be. Arcadia officers assisting Monrovia Police found ballistics damage at one building, while more evidence was located in the 300 block of West Duarte Road. Irwindale officers and El Monte officers are also assisting Monrovia. |
