Monrovia police officers were called to Live Oak Memorial Park around 1:41 p.m. August 26 to multiple calls of gunfire. Police located a suspect in a gray truck who refused to pull over and he recklessly drove around the cemetery, according to the Monrovia Police Department. The pursuit led to surface streets and officers ended the pursuit due to safety reasons, according to Lt. Donchig of the Monrovia Police Department in a written statement. Issac Guevara, 47, was located by the California Highway Patrol and detained in the area of the 60 freeway and Santa Anita Avenue September 4. Guevara was then arrested by Monrovia detectives and booked on suspicion of felony evading and violating a domestic violence restraining order, according to Sergeant Anaya of the Monrovia Police Department. During their investigation, detectives could not prove that Guevara fired the shots heard by patrons at the cemetery, Anaya told SGV CityWatch. Guevara is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility and is next scheduled for an appearance in Pasadena Superior Court September 27. MONROVIA - At least one person was taken to a hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig occurred Friday. Lanes 3 through 5 of the east 210 freeway just east of Buena Vista Street will be closed for an unknown duration. The HOV lane remains open, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers first responded to the multi vehicle collision at 5:47 a.m. January 14 for a motorcyclist down in the slow lane. A big rig involved reportedly began catching fire as officers were dispatched and possibly one other vehicle was already fully engulfed, according to CHP traffic logs. A motorcycle became lodged underneath the trailer the semi was hauling. Officers called for a heavy duty tow truck to lift the trailer off of the motorcycle. Police are setting up a perimeter search near where the crash happened after witnesses reported at least three men fleeing across freeway lanes and into business and residential areas below, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. The crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m. on the eastbound 210 freeway near South Myrtle Avenue. A Sig Alert has been issued for one hour for the HOV, No. 1 and 2 lanes of traffic. A vehicle only described as possibly white in color, overturned and eventually caught fire. A witness under the freeway reported three men running from the freeway. The Monrovia Police Department received multiple calls of the suspects fleeing in the area. A vehicle traveling westbound in eastbound lanes of the 210 freeway struck another vehicle just east of Huntington Drive around 4:43 a.m. The wrong way vehicle was traveling at high speed in the HOV lane and was seen by other drivers as far back as Vernon Avenue in Azusa, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. One of the vehicles overturned. All eastbound lanes were initially closed for an investigation. Both on ramps from Huntington Drive to the eastbound 210 remain closed. The No. 4 lane was opened to traffic just after 6 a.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - A possible speeding driver overturned a dark-colored sedan after crashing on the eastbound 210 freeway at Buena Vista Street. The sedan hit an unknown object and overturned on the right shoulder and landed down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.
