Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE - A man and woman were arrested this week after a GPS device help law enforcement track down the duo accused of burglarizing a home and taking the victims vehicle. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Crescenta Valley Station aided by the Los Angeles County Auto Theft Task Force tracked down the man and woman to Woodland Hills where they were reportedly committing more crimes before being found and arrested, deputies said. A home was burglarized February 23 and the 800 block of Green Ridge Drive in La Cañada Flintridge. Keys to the victims vehicle and miscellaneous items were taken. Two days later, the victim discovered their vehicle was stolen from the home, deputies said.
Authorities found the stolen vehicle in Woodland Hills being driven by a woman from Glendale. Following her, was with authorities described as a chase vehicle being driven by a man from Los Angeles. The driver of the chase vehicle was pulled over and detained. The woman in the stolen vehicle stopped and fled on foot before finally being taken into custody, deputies said. The woman was found in possession of the stolen key, as well as illegal narcotics with the intent to sell, deputies said. The victim’s stolen vehicle was recovered. The man was booked at Crescenta Valley Station on suspicion of burglary, driving a vehicle without owner’s consent and possession of burglary tools.
