Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE - Deputies are looking for a man who assaulted a district employee while at an elementary school campus June 15.
The suspect trespasser was approached by a district employee at La Cañada Elementary School, 4540 Encinas Dr., around 10:50 a.m. The suspect punched the employee after being confronted about trespassing and fled the school, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Crescenta Valley Station. The campus remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The suspect drove away in a grey Lexus SUV, possibly a 2003-2008 Lexus RX, deputies said. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, has a muscular build, brown hair and blue eyes. He wore a grey long-sleeved shirt, navy blue shorts and carried two duffle bags. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call Crescenta Valley Station Detective Burt at 818-236-4014. The suspect was taken into custody before noon after the suspect refused to surrender on the southbound 2 Freeway onramp south of Foothill Boulevard, according to Sgt. Taylor of the Los Angeles County Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. No one was injured.
The assault with a deadly weapon occurred in the 500 block of Foothill Boulevard at 10:13 a.m., Taylor said. What led to the assault with a deadly weapon was not immediately known. A Sig Alert was issued about one hour ago at the Foothill Boulevard onramp to the southbound 2 Freeway. |
