Two other people from the home were hospitalized for smoke inhalation, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. A fire fighter was also reportedly injured. First responders were sent to the house in the 2000 block of Rancho Cañada Road around 3:56 a.m. Tuesday, January 30. Firefighters immediately reported smoke and fire showing from a window on the second story of the single-family home, according to fire department radio traffic. Deputies arrived first and pulled a woman through a window to rescue her. Another occupant, a man, was able to exit the house by himself, according to ABC7 news. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE – A Sig Alert was issued Tuesday morning and has been extended to 7:30 a.m. after a vehicle struck a pedestrian on the east 210 freeway west of Angeles Crest Highway.
The Sig Alert affects the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the east 210 freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Nicholson. CHP officers were dispatched around 4:10 a.m. September 13. The driver of a gray Toyota Rav4 told dispatch he thought he struck a body in the roadway. It is not publicly clear if the pedestrian was up and walking prior to being struck by the Rav4, or if the pedestrian was down after being previously hit. A Sig Alert is affecting the 210 east to the southbound 2 trans road. It is not immediately clear how many vehicles may have been involved. California Highway Patrol traffic logs indicate possibly two other vehicles may have been involved. Aerial footage from KTLA 5 news showed the twisted, burned remnants of a vehicle on the far right lane. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE - A motorcyclist who crash with another vehicle died after being hospitalized, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s lieutenant said. The crash happened on Angeles Crest Highway near Gould Mesa January 19. The rider was northbound when he collided with another vehicle, according to Lt. Lopez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Altadena Station. The collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. The road remains closed during an investigation, Lopez said.
The other driver is cooperating with deputies. The victim is only described as an adult male, Lopez said. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - A Panorama City man and Sun Valley man both died at the scene of a wrong way crash on the westbound 210 freeway west of Angeles Crest Highway early Sunday morning.
The California Highway Patrol believes the driver of a 2001 Honda Civic, 32-year-old Kevork Khamisian of Sun Valley, was the wrong way driver spotted by passing motorists, traveling east in westbound lanes of the 210 freeway near Pennsylvania Avenue around 1:46 a.m. Three minutes later, CHP officers received a call of a two-vehicle collision west of Angeles Crest Highway. Officers found the Honda facing northwest in the No. 1 lane, while a 2017 Kia Niro, driven by 24-year-old Panorama City resident Bruce Alvarenga, was facing south in the No. 4 lane and right shoulder, the CHP said. It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. All westbound 210 lanes east of Angeles Crest were closed until about 6 a.m. |
