Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CAŃADA FLINTRIDGE – A 52-year-old man is recovering after he became pinned under the truck he was working on after it rolled backwards on top of him January 19. The man became pinned under the truck outside a convenience store in the 1000 block of Foothill Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. , according to Sgt. John Gilbert of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Crescenta Valley Station. After arriving, deputies reportedly witnessed the man inhale deeply. He then stopped breathing, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “Believing the man would die if they didn’t act immediately, deputies immediately attempted to lift the front bumper of the vehicle off of the man. As the four deputies struggled, two civilian bystanders joined the deputies and they were all successfully able to lift the truck off of the male and pull him to safety,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The man started breathing again and was transported to an area hospital. |
