Two other people from the home were hospitalized for smoke inhalation, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. A fire fighter was also reportedly injured. First responders were sent to the house in the 2000 block of Rancho Cañada Road around 3:56 a.m. Tuesday, January 30. Firefighters immediately reported smoke and fire showing from a window on the second story of the single-family home, according to fire department radio traffic. Deputies arrived first and pulled a woman through a window to rescue her. Another occupant, a man, was able to exit the house by himself, according to ABC7 news. A one-hour Sig Alert was issued at 12:14 p.m. for the Angeles Crest offramp at the eastbound 210 freeway. At least one vehicle overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE – A home has been red-tagged and commercial properties below a compromised retaining wall may be impacted, firefighters said. The retaining wall became compromised sometime before 11 a.m. in the 2100 block of Foothill Boulevard. A home above the retaining wall at 2140 Tondolea Ln was red-tagged. The area near the compromised retaining wall has been taped off, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Building and safety workers, as well as the Los Angeles County Department of Public works are investigating. |
