BASSETT - Deputies continue to search for a suspect who fled from a Hummer during a brief pursuit in the Bassett area Monday.

Two of the three suspects who fled the red Hummer were caught after fleeing in the area of Puente Avenue north of Amar Road July 28. streets were briefly closed during a search, but have since reopened, according to Sgt. Chavez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.

Deputies attempted to pull over the driver of the red Hummer in the area of Baldwin Park Boulevard and Francisquito Avenue.

The Hummer was reported stolen out of the Los Angeles Police Department Mission Division July 27, Chavez told SGV CityWatch.

BASSETT - A stolen vehicle suspect was caught November 12 after fleeing to Pacoima.

Deputies discovered the vehicle was stolen at Baldwin Park Boulevard and Amar Road around 12:45 a.m. The suspect fled to the freeways, but the California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit, according to Sgt. Geary of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.

Once the CHP took over, Industry deputies left the pursuit.

Geary was not sure of the make and model of the vehicle, nor when and where it was stolen.

The CHP could not be reached for suspect booking information.

Bassett - A man and woman were arrested after fleeing police who attempted to serve a search warrant Friday.
 
The unidentified driver and passenger fled El Monte Police just after 5 a.m. November 2. The pursuit barely lasted two minutes before the suspects were taken into custody, according to Lt. Ernie Kramer of the El Monte Police Department.
 
El Monte officers were in La Puente to serve the search warrant and located their suspect driving in the area. The officers trailed the suspect when he fled from them, initiating the chase, Kramer said.
 
The driver crashed through a fence in the 800 block of Stichman Avenue and hit a wall. No one was injured, Kramer said.
 
The booking information for both suspects was not available.
 
Kramer could not provide further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

BASSETT - The mother of two toddlers who allegedly kidnapped her children was arrested after colliding with a bus during a high-speed pursuit Tuesday night.

The as-of-yet unidentified woman allegedly took her children, whome she does not share custody of, during a supervised visitation at a Department of Children and Family Services office in Ladera Heights March 27.

The woman took her kids and fled around 1 p.m. when she was left unsupervised.

Deputies somehow tracked the suspect’s cellphone and was traced to Whittier where she fled, deputies said.

Whittier Police located the suspect parked in a lot in the 11800 block of Whittier Boulevard and tried to stop her, Whittier Police said.

The pursuit entered the San Gabriel Valley around 7 p.m. after exiting the northbound 605 freeway at Peck Road. The suspect fled onto surface streets at around 90 miles per hour at times.

The suspect then struck a Foothill Transit bus that occupied by riders and a driver at Valley Boulevard near Vineland Avenue.

“The suspect then tried to run from the accident, leaving her children behind but was apprehended moments later,” Whittier Police said.

Sheriff’s deputies took the suspect into custody and the two uninjured children were returned to DCFS officials.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Marina Del Rey Station, which patrols the Ladera Heights area, has not yet returned a call for booking information.
