Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDALE - Three burglary suspects were jailed Sunday after crashing their vehicle during a 100 mile per hour pursuit. A large amount of jewelry was found inside the crashed black vehicle on the Mountain Street offramp from the southbound 2 freeway November 10. A perimeter search helped to locate the three suspects according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Crescenta Valley Station. A deputy attempted a traffic stop on a reckless vehicle on the southbound 2 freeway. The pursuit was canceled due to high speeds but seconds later the deputy located the crashed the suspect vehicle. After discovering the jewelry, deputies learned that a residential burglary occurred in La Cañada Flintridge in the 800 block of Lynnhaven Lane, deputies said.
The burglary victims arrived to the scene of the crash and were able to confirm the stolen jewelry was theirs, deputies said. The three suspects were booked at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of burglary. |
