CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - A man from Westminster was behind bars Friday, accused of driving a stolen vehicle and leading police on a pursuit. Officers began searching for a stolen 2013 Kia Sorrento after receiving an alert from the department’s automated license plate reader system around 3:15 p.m. The Sorrento was located near Fair Oaks Avenue and Monterey Road. During a traffic stop near Bank Street Fair Oaks, a passenger exited the vehicle and was detained. The driver stopped briefly, but then drove away, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jesse Saice, continued to evade officers until he stopped in the driveway of a home in the 1500 block of Spruce Street and began running. During a containment search, an officer spotted Saice hiding behind a parked vehicle. Saice who is booked on suspicion of felony evading and driving a stolen vehicle. Saice is being held without bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in Alhambra, Superior Court, Tuesday, June 4, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records.
