Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor BASSETT - An identified suspect is still at-large one day after firing a shotgun at a male victim. The shooting took place in the 1000 block of Le Borgne Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18. The victim’s condition was not immediate known after he was transported to an area hospital, according to Sgt. Matthew Shackelford of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The suspect ran southbound from the scene after firing. As of Monday night, Shackelford had no information regarding a suspect arrest. The incident is gang related. Deputies who responded to the scene were told the suspect shouted “Bassett Grande,” according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. Deputies learned the identity of the suspect and detectives are now handling the investigation, Shackelford said. |
