The Millard Fire burned two acres in the Cobb Estate area of the Altadena foothills near Lake Avenue and East Loma Alta Drive around 5 p.m. July 27. The fire that burned nearly 11 acres of light to medium brush near Loma Alta Drive and Chaney Trail September 22 has been “completely extinguished,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a Wednesday night message. The U.S. Forest Service was aided by Los Angeles County Firefighters in fighting the flames, which were first reported around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. While firefighters and aircraft worked on the fire, Los Angeles County Deputies worked to evacuate patrons of Millard Trail Camp north of the brush fire.
120 personnel were assigned to the brush fire. Millard Trail Camp, which is above the brush fire, is under mandatory evacuation, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. ALTADENA - A two-acre brush fire is burning uphill near Loma Alta Drive and Chaney Trail, Los Angeles County Firefighters report. A full brush response including four helicopters have been sent to battle the fire, which was reported around 3:26 p.m. September 22. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies are also on scene and are working to evacuate patrons at a campground in the area of the fire. |
