Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALTADENA - The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team and county firefighters rescued a man who slipped, fell and injured himself in Eaton Canyon Saturday. The 32-year-old victim was located 50 feet over the side of the Mt. Wilson Toll Road one-quarter mile up from the trailhead. He suffered back pain, leg pain and a head laceration, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Altadena Station.
Rescuers responded around 7:15 a.m. November 30. Firefighters hiked in to locate the victim. After the hiker was located, an Altadena Mountain Rescue Team member was lowered to the victim to begin treatment. A Los Angeles County Fire Department Helicopter hoisted the hiker who was flown to Huntington Memorial Hospital. The crimes were publicized in the Altadena Sheriff’s Station weekly crime blotter. A residential burglary occurred in the 1700 block of East Mendocino Street between 7:10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A suspect or suspects entered the home through unknown means. It is unclear what was stolen, deputies said. A residential burglary was reported in the 3600 block of Monterosa Drive between 10:55 a.m. and 8:35 p.m. A rear sliding glass door was shattered to gain entry. Jewelry was taken from the home in a yellow pillow case, deputies said. Another residential burglary was reported this one any 2000 block of Holliston Avenue between Noon and 3:30 p.m. Unknown suspects shattered a window and were able to disable a burglary alarm. It is unknown what was stolen.
A residential burglary was reported in the 1300 block of East Woodbury Road. between 2:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Jewelry was reported stolen from the home after an unknown number of suspects shattered a rear window. A black wallet containing credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 2500 block of East Washington Boulevard between 5:50 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. deputies said. Unknown suspects burglarized a vehicle in the 900 block of East Woodbury Road Between 6:40 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. A window was shattered and a black messenger bag, brown Louis Vuitton wallets, cash and personal documents were stolen. |
