First responders were sent to 64 W. Loma Alta Dr. just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5. Initially being told of a vehicle fire, firefighters came upon a black Audi SUV that had crashed and rolled over, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. The Audi SUV struck one or more parked vehicles before overturning, according to Michael Nasir of the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center. The ages of the male and female were not immediately known to Nasir. At least one of the occupants was extricated from the vehicle. It is unknown if firefighters or passersby pulled the occupant out of the SUV. CHP officers requested the county medical examiner to the scene. As of 4:45 a.m., medical examiner investigators had yet to arrive to the scene. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALTADENA - A vehicle has crashed through a home Friday evening, causing significant structural damage, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The vehicle crashed through the home in the 2700 block of Santa Rosa Avenue. The circumstances leading to the crash or not publicly clear. It is not immediately known if anyone was inside the house when the crash occurred. The extent of injuries is not immediately clear. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is requesting building and safety inspectors to examine the home’s structural integrity. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALTADENA - A woman died in a rollover crash that injured as many as five others October 15. The collision occurred at East Woodbury Road near Fiske Avenue just before Noon. A black Ford Escape and a silver Honda Odyssey collided. The Escape overturned, while the Odyssey sustained major front end damage, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. Firefighters arrived on scene and found the woman trapped inside one of the vehicles. The woman died at the scene, according to Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangel of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Five other people received minor injuries: two children under 3 in one vehicle were taken to an area trauma center. In the second vehicle, a woman and child were hospitalized while two other children older than 3 ended up without being transported, Rangel said. The circumstances surrounding the collision have yet to be publicly shared by the California Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash. The driver crashed into a wall at Holliston Avenue and Mendocino Street Saturday, October 13. CHP officers were notified of the crash at 9:47 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center. Upon the arrival of CHP officers, the male driver was extricated and taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he died, the CHP said. The driver has a not been identified yet. The case has yet to be assigned to an investigator, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. It is unclear if the driver suffered a medical emergency which led to the crash, or if drugs, alcohol or distracted driving are factors. |
