The solo crash occurred around 2:22 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Ada Avenue. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle did not strike the home, according to the Glendora Police Department. Phillip Eugene Martin, 37, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Sgt. Shelly Gold of the Glendora Police Department. Martin was issued a citation and released, according to Los Angeles County booking records. The checkpoint is held in conjunction with a nationwide enforcement winter mobilization campaign targeting drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs while educating other drivers on the dangers of DUI driving, according tot the Glendora Police Department. “The Glendora Police Department would like to remind the public that DUI does not just include driving under the influence of alcohol, but also includes the use of prescription drugs and marijuana,” Glendora Police said in a written statement.
Funding for this DUI checkpoint operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
