The work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and conclude Friday, May 7 at 7 a.m. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be detoured, according to the Gold Line Foothill Construction Authority. VIEW THE CONSTRUCTION NOTICE>> In addition to the above work, crews will construct track drainage and repave work zones for new freight track. The closure only affects Lone Hill Avenue between Auto Centre Drive and Gladstone Street, the Construction Authority said. More closures will be coming to Glendora. Contingent on the current Elwood Street Closure at the railroad tracks ending May 11, closures at Pasadena Avenue and Loraine Avenue will commence. The full closure at Pasadena Avenue is scheduled to begin May 11 and last until November 11. The full closure of Loraine Avenue is scheduled to begin May 12 and end August 26, the Construction Authority said. The access road to the Glendora City Maintenance Yard will be permanently closed and used for the L Line completion, as that land is part of the L Line right of way, the Construction Authority said. PASADENA AVENUE CLOSURE NOTICE>> LORAINE AVENUE CLOSURE NOTICE>> Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Nighttime construction is scheduled to take place on two heavily-travelled roads in Glendora beginning both Monday and Tuesday. A drilling operation will take place on eastbound Route 66 at the freight bridge near Compromise Line Road. Work will also be done in the two northbound inside lanes of Lone Hill Avenue at the railroad crossing south of Auto Center Drive. Both projects are scheduled to start Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. Each project is scheduled to end the following mornings at 3:30 a.m. Construction company Kiewit-Parsons will conduct soil analysis work on behalf of the Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority at each location ahead of the planned light rail extension from Azusa to Pomona.
Residents and drivers should expect construction noise from the drill rig engine, light drilling, and construction vehicle back up alarms. The work zones will be coned off and through access maintained, according to the construction authority.
