Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A man received a substantial wound after being stabbed Sunday morning, a Glendora Police lieutenant said. The stabbing was reported at Our Place, 240 E. Route 66, around 12:43 a.m. August 4. Police arrived and found a man suffering from a stab wound to an unspecified area of his body, according to Lt. Chris Stabio of the Glendora Police Department. A suspect is outstanding.
Stabio declined to state what led to the stabbing, or provide a suspect description. The victim was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. The wound preliminarily was deemed not life-threatening, Stabio said. Anyone who witnessed the stabbing, or who can identify the suspect is urged to call Sgt. Michael Henderson at 626-914-8250. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A 48-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, accused of attempted murder and other charges after allegedly stabbing his roommate. Ernesto Chavez allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab his roommate during the altercation. Chavez is also accused of threatening to shoot him, according to Lt. Mike Randazzo of the Glendora Police Department. The victim was stabbed in the upper torso Saturday, June 1 and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Randazzo said.
Chavez was arrested at 5:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Barston Place and booked several hours later on suspicion of attempted murder, threatening crime with intent to terrorize and exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm, according to Glendora booking records. Chavez is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in West Covina Superior Court Tuesday, June 4. Email Newsletter! | Advertise! | Donate! Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Deputies from the Industry Sheriff’s Station are investigating a sex assault in their jurisdiction after the victim wound up in a Glendora parking lot Friday. The victim parked in the lot at Gladstone Care Rehab, 435 E. Gladstone St. Officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle at 5:31 a.m. January 25 and eventually located the victim, according to Sgt. Ryan Layaye of the Glendora Police Department. The scene was still active as of 10 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies had the area around the parked vehicle taped off, according to a SGV CityWatch reader.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 7:15 a.m. for a bleeding victim, according to a representative with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A sergeant with the Sheriff’s Industry Station could only confirm that an investigation is underway, but would not elaborate further. |
