The sedan collided with the big rig hauling 25,000 pounds of boxes on the eastbound 210 freeway at Sunflower Avenue around 11:34 p.m. November 2. The sedan struck the semi on the curve of the freeway, spun out and came to stop on the right shoulder, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. A Sig Alert was issued at 12:14 a.m. for the No. 2, 3 and 4 lanes. By 3:07 a.m., all traffic lanes were open, the CHP said. The driver, 28-year-old Joshua Holland of Glendora, was westbound on Gladstone Street when the vehicle veered across lanes and struck a wall at Gladstone and Concord Lane at 12:21 p.m. April 27, according to Sgt. Jason Tibbetts of the Glendora Police Department. “After a series of field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DUI,” Tibbetts told SGV CityWatch.
Holland was the only occupant of the vehicle. No one else was injured, Tibbetts told SGV CityWatch. The crash occurred on southbound Glendora Mountain Road at Palm Drive around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect was reportedly driving at high speed when the crash occurred, according to Sgt. Ryan Layaye of the Glendora Police Department. Firefighters documented at least one patient being transported to a hospital, according to Marvin Lim, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman.
The vehicle the suspect drove left the roadway before crashing, Layaye said. The driver was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, but booking information is not yet available. The solo crash occurred just before 6 a.m. on South Barranca Avenue north of Gladstone Street November 26. The driver was pronounced dead after arriving to the hospital, according to the Glendora Police Department. The driver was northbound in the 1200 block of South Barranca Avenue when the crash occurred. The cause is under investigation. Mark Guerrero, 56, was identified by Investigator Ryan Parraz of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Guerrero is a resident of Glendora. Before the pursuit even began, 41-year-old stolen vehicle suspect Richard Brady allegedly struck a Glendora officer and struck two Glendora Police vehicles while attempting to elude capture, the Glendora Police Department announced. A stolen SUV was discovered in an undisclosed motel parking lot. Glendora officers and detectives attempted to detain Brady as he was leaving a motel room, but he was able to get away, Glendora Police said. Brady struck the officer, patrol cars and an additional parked vehicle before even leaving the parking lot. Brady fled west on the 210 freeway until he crashed near Citrus Avenue and fled on foot, but he caught with the assistance of Azusa Police officers, Glendora Police said. “Brady is on probation for vehicle theft and he also had an arrest warrant for theft,” Glendora Police said. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the case against Brady, charging him with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless evading, vehicle theft and forgery. The officer who was struck sustained injuries and has since returned to work, Glendora Police said. No injuries were reported after the unidentified Long Beach man in a Honda Accord struck the other motorist, a 49-year-old Glendora man in a Toyota Corolla, on northbound Bonnie Cove Avenue at Arrow Highway at 6 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Rodrigo Jimenez. Officer Thomas saw signs of intoxication in the driver and after a thorough DUI investigation, the Long Beach man was arrested.
Two half-empty vodka bottles were found in the DUI driver’s vehicle. The CHP will have extra officers on patrol during the Maximum Enforcement Period this Labor Day Weekend, Jimenez said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - One driver was hospitalized, a second was in custody in a suspected DUI collision in Downtown Glendora early Sunday morning. The collision occurred at Foothill Boulevard and Glendora Avenue at 12:17 a.m. June 30, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police identified the suspect driver, 31-year-old Glendora man Edgard Lopez. He was apparently booked on suspicion of felony DUI, but no such arrest record exists yet, either in Glendora Police booking, or in Los Angeles County booking records. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Two people were hospitalized after a driver struck a parked car, which caused her vehicle to overturn on Route 66. The crash occurred on eastbound Route 66 east of Grand Avenue around 1:44 p.m. June 29. An eastbound driver changed lanes abruptly and struck an occupied car that had just been parked along the curb line, according to Sgt. Shawna Celello of the Glendora Police Department.
Both drivers were hospitalized. The condition of the driver in the overturned vehicle was not immediately known. The driver in the parked car received facial injuries, Celello said. DUI was not believed to be a factor in the crash. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A suspected hit and run driver made a grave error Wednesday after fleeing into a nearby cemetery where a helicopter pilot helped officers take her into custody. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Jessica Ann Brubaker, was found hiding in nearby Oakdale Memorial Park cemetery, 1401 S. Grand Ave. Brubaker is believed to have crashed into a light pole with a silver truck, according to Lt. Marty Barrett of the Glendora Police Department. The light pole was located on the center median of Grand Avenue at Juanita Avenue when it was struck.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station were first on scene at 10:53 p.m., Barrett said. An eyewitness saw a female fleeing into a cemetery, setting off a containment search, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. The crash occurred on the westbound 210 freeway west of Grand Avenue around 3:50 p.m. April 12. The driver of a 1999 silver Isuzu SUV was driving at high speed in and out of multiple lanes. The driver was in the HOV lane when he steered across the No. 1 lane, into the No. 2 lane and went partially into the No. 3 lane, the California Highway Patrol said. The driver steered to the left to avoid crashing into a vehicle in the No. 3 lane. The driver rolled the SUV several times. He suffered major trauma and died at the scene, the CHP said.
The CHP blocked the HOV & No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes during an investigation around 4:15 p.m., eventually opening the No. 2 and 3 lanes. The HOV & No. 1 lane were opened before 9 p.m. |
