NORWALK - A driver was hospitalized early Wednesday after his car exited the Glen Anderson Freeway and crashed through a building.
The crash occurred around 1:52 a.m. at a medical building at 12820 Studebaker Road. The vehicle exited the freeway and didn’t stop until it slammed into the unoccupied medical building.
“The driver was lucky to make it out alive,” said deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Norwalk Station.
It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or distracted driving were factors in the crash.

LA MIRADA - A 22-year-old Biola student was arrested March 23 after university security alerted deputies to his weapons stash.
Jason Michael Roberts was arrested after Norwalk station deputies discovered an “AR-15-style assault rifle” and one 9-millimeter handgun stashed in his dorm. After interviewing Roberts, deputies determined there was no threat to students or faculty.
Biola security alerted Norwalk deputies around 2 p.m. last Friday to the weapons violations.
Roberts, a Red Bluff, California resident, was booked on suspicion of possessing a firearm while on a university campus, possessing a weapon while on a university campus, manufacture of an assault weapon and possessing an unregistered firearm.
Both weapons were unregistered, deputies said.
The investigation is ongoing.
