Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - One person was taken to a hospital from the scene of a reported shooting Monday night.
Firefighters were dispatched to a reported gunshot victim in the area of Grand Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at 9 p.m. Monday, June 20. One patient was transported. The victim’s condition was not publicly known, according to Dispatch Supervisor Jeremy Stafford of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Users of the Ring app reported a shooting at or near Vons, 435 W. Foothill Blvd. A Glendora resident who was out for an evening walk two streets away from the Vons heard at least two gunshots soon followed by the wailing of police sirens. “We were in the parking lot shortly after the cops arrived on scene and the fire trucks were there as well. The fire trucks were blocking the views of the entrance. Cops were hustling around for supplies from trunks,” according to the resident who asked her name not be used. “The scene was VERY active and we chose to get out for safety reasons as cops were just rushing in and it didn’t seem like it was a contained scene yet,” according to the resident. Fire trucks had already left the scene and crime scene tape was set up outside the store when the resident returned 20 to 30 minutes later. Employees were standing at the front entrance along with other officers. Other officers appear to be searching at least one vehicle, according to the resident. It is unclear if anyone is in custody. |
