Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Days after being arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, hit and run, DUI and resisting arrest, a Covina man allegedly put up some items he stole online. William Nice, 57, was located in West Covina January 16 after police said he stole a truck from a mobile home park in the 400 block of East Route 66. The driver crashed into a passing vehicle as he fled, Glendora Police said. After receiving word of the truck’s location, Glendora Police arrived to a West Covina motel and witnessed a driver attempt to flee the parking lot in the stolen truck. The driver then tried to flee on foot, but was caught after attempting to flee over a wall, Glendora Police said. The truck as well as some of the victim’s stolen tools, found in a nearby car, were recovered. Nice posted $50,000 bail.
Glendora Police detectives learned January 23 that some remaining stolen tools were being posted online for sale. Glendora detectives and assisting officers served a search warrant in a Claremont motel and found Nice inside. some of the tools were located and recovered, Glendora Police said. “Nice was arrested a second time and booked for possession of stolen property. He was later released with a citation. Several of the victim's stolen tools are still outstanding,” Glendora Police said in a written statement.
