The suspect and passenger met at a party in Pomona around 5 p.m. that same day. The suspect drove the passenger to Duarte and without notice, the suspect placed a knife to the victim’s neck, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The crash happened in the 2200 block of Huntington Drive. “The suspect drove while holding a knife to the victim’s neck and then the suspect punched the victim several times, causing him to collide with another vehicle,” according to the Sheriff’s Temple Station in a written statement. It is unclear if the suspect was ever identified to law enforcement and arrested. The suspect fled the crash and was last seen at a nearby gas station. The shooting occurred in the area of Shrode Avenue and Broderick Avenue around 6 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The suspect was described as a Latino man, 18 to 30 years old. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue shorts and has neck tattoos and a mustache. The suspect was armed with a 9-milimeter handgun. The victim told deputies he does not claim any gang membership. It is not immediately clear if a motive was learned.

DUARTE - Two 17-year-olds were hospitalized Thursday night, reportedly found without their pulse and not breathing inside a home.
Deputies were called to the home at 8:55 p.m. November 3. Family members found the teens in the home on Bettyhill Avenue just north of Treefern Drive, according to Sgt. Leyba of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station.
Suspecting a possible Fentanyl overdose, deputies readied doses of Nalaxone, known by the brand name Narcan, and deployed the opioid inhibitor once on scene, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic.
“The deputies administered three cans of Narcan, because it was believed it was a possible Fentanyl overdose. Deputies also performed chest compressions until firefighters arrived, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. Leyba did not know the current condition for the teens and said deputies were still determining what was behind the overdose. Between 9:50 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. entry was made through a rear sliding glass door in the 900 block of Livermont Lane August 18. Taken from a bedroom was $10,000. Damage to the sliding door was $400, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. No surveillance video is available. It is unclear if detectives have any descriptions of a suspect. The burglary occurred at a pharmacy at 931 Buena Vista St., just before 6 a.m. Doors to the east side of the building were pried open and a suspect or suspects stole the property, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The loss was unknown at the time of the report. A suspect in an Amazon delivery shirt was caught on surveillance video “appearing to impersonate an Amazon delivery driver,” according to the City of Duarte. The incident was recorded June 16 in the 2500 block of Elda Street at 3:30 p.m. ”Witnesses reported that the man was sitting in his vehicle waiting on the street for the Amazon delivery driver, and after the delivery came, he followed to steal the package,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. The suspect drove in a yellow Kia EV6. Deputies ask residents to be vigilant, but to refrain from confronting strangers. Report suspicious persons, vehicles and to write down a license plate number if it is available. Report possible crimes in progress to the Sheriff’s Temple Station at 626-448-9861. He has curly hair and was last seen wearing a blue sweater, blue pants and was carrying a dark-colored camouflage backpack. California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley, 1401 Highland Ave., announced in a message to parents Wednesday night that classes June 2 would be cancelled and a decision on how students could make up final exams would be made. “We wanted to inform you that it has been reported that a student made what was described by witnesses as a “joke” about bringing a gun to school tomorrow,” according to CSArts in the parents message. The scheduled graduation pre-rehearsal was also cancelled. “We have shared the reports with law enforcement and are in the process of completing a full investigation into the allegations,” according to CSArts in the parents message. Several attempts to speak with Det. Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station were unsuccessful. It is unclear if the student was cited or arrested, or even located. California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley boasts itself as a public charter school, offering college preparatory education. The burglary occurred between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the 1800 block of Orange Grove Road. A rear glass sliding door was shattered to gain entry to the home. It was not clear of a suspect vehicle was seen fleeing the area. The assault occurred in the 1200 block of Huntington Drive Between 2:45 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect is described as a black man who stands 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. Clothing description was not provided. The victims condition was also not provided. Residents who live within a half mile of the 1200 block of Huntington Drive are asked to check security cameras for any video capturing suspicious activity around the time of the assault, according to the Los Angeles County sheriffs department.
