Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DUARTE - An unknown suspect disconnected the security cameras at a sushi restaurant in early September and made off with thousands in cash, deputies said.
The grand theft was reported at Sushi Fire, 1723 Huntington Dr., between the hours of 11 p.m. September 1 and 10 a.m. September 2. Approximately $2,000 was taken, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The money was placed behind the counter after closing time with only employees still present, deputies said. Management realized the security cameras were disconnected when trying to check the footage. The investigation is ongoing. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DUARTE - A man was arrested August 28, accused of being under the influence of methamphetamine after a patrolling deputy believed the suspect was exposing himself while wearing women’s underwear near Duarte High School.
Isaiah Jacob Ramirez, 21, was spotted near the Duarte High School baseball field in the 1500 block of Bloomdale Street. Due to his proximity to children in the area, Ramirez was detained, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. After investigating, deputies found no evidence Ramirez was exposing himself, but did see signs he was under the influence of meth, deputies said. Ramirez was taken into custody. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DUARTE - Deputies arrested a man August 28 after determining he was a gang member and found him possessing a loaded weapon.
Deputies saw Daniel Salgado-Dominguez, 29, exiting the Duarte Public Safety Office, 1042 Huntington Dr., the afternoon of Tuesday, August 28. Deputies knew Salgado-Dominguez was wanted for an outstanding felony warrant, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. Deputies took Salgado-Dominguez into custody outside the Duarte Public Safety Office without incident. “Prior to transporting, the suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun in a holster attached to the inside of his pants,” deputies said. Salgado-Dominguez was booked on suspicion of carrying the loaded handgun and on seven additional felonies related to the handgun, including carrying a loaded firearm, being a gang member in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. Salgado-Dominguez is being held in the North County Correction Facility in Castaic. He is scheduled to appear in Alhambra Superior Court September 12. |
