Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK - The son of a woman found stabbed to death May 5 was arrested after he called police and admitted to dealing the fatal blows, Sheriff’s detectives said.
The unidentified suspect surrendered to Monterey Park Police officers outside a home in the 1700 block of Alisar Avenue. Officers found the suspect with his hands up. He was detained without incident, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect, only identified as a Hispanic man in his 30s, called 9-1-1 and told dispatchers he killed someone. “When officers entered the residence, they found a female Hispanic in her 60’s with multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. She was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Two knives were recovered at the scene. The woman was pronounced dead in the 1700 block of Alisar Avenue May 5. Monterey Park firefighters were called to the scene at 10:47 a.m., according to Monterey Park Fire Department radio traffic.
