DIAMOND BAR - A shotgun and rifle were taken during a nighttime home burglary witnessed by a neighbor Thursday.

The burglary was reported around 6:44 p.m. in the 1900 block of Fern Hollow Drive December 20. Deputies arrived, found evidence of forced entry and confirmed two weapons were taken, according to Lt. Mario Avola of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station.

The suspects smashed through a rear glass sliding door, Avola said.

The homeowner had numerous guns, but they took the two that we know of,” Avola said. “We believe a safe was also seen being put in the vehicle.”

The neighbor only described the suspects as two Hispanic men. They fled in a blue Hyundai Sonata.

DIAMOND BAR - A reported attic fire is burning in a two-story house, firefighters report.

The fire is burning in the 500 block of South Bellow Court. Firefighters on scene reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the home, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:22 p.m.

Two searches of the home yield no victims.
