The checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location within the Walnut/Diamond Bar Station patrol area beginning at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday morning at 2 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Department. “DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road,” according to the Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A man has just been detained after fleeing a vehicle during a felony traffic stop after being sought for possible burglary.
The suspect fled a felony traffic stop on southbound Grand Avenue near the 60 freeway. The suspect, described as a Black man in a burgundy sweatshirt, fled towards Calvary Chapel, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Radio Traffic. Three other men inside the suspect vehicle have also been detained. Deputies found and detained the west side of the Calvary Chapel parking lot, 22324 Golden Springs Dr. All four suspects were sought in connection with a possible attempted home burglary in the 21700 block of Clydesdale Circle in Walnut. |
