Rynell Verdin, Arturo Gonzalez, and Mattron Brown were all taken into custody Wednesday, April 5, after detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau wrote a search warrant to arrest each suspect at their homes in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino counties. Approximately $17,000 cash, three illegally-possessed firearms, personal items belonging to the victims, as well clothing and ski masks worn during the robbery were recovered, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The home invasion robbery occurred in Diamond Bar. A married couple were forced into the living room at gunpoint. Shirts were placed over their heads while the suspects took more than $22,000 in cash and property. The suspects fled in a black Acura, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “The investigation is ongoing in order to determine if this robbery crew is related to other home invasion robberies that have recently occurred in the Southern California Area,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. All three suspects are being held without bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in the Pomona courthouse Friday, April 7. The robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven, 206 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. around 5 a.m. Sunday. The suspect dude what was described as a dark gray handgun which he then stashed into a Walmart plastic bag, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar Station radio traffic. The suspect escaped northbound on the non-motorized red scooter on Diamond Bar Boulevard. The suspect was described as a balding Hispanic man who is 35 years old. He stands 6 feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and wore a long-sleeve blue shirt. The carjacking took place outside H Mart, 2825 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. around 3:40 p.m. The suspect, only described as a Black man between 20 and 25 years old wearing jeans and a mask, took a 1999 Toyota Camry, according to Lt. Knight of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The Camry was driven away east on Golden Springs Drive. The victim was uninjured, Knight told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A husband and wife were hospitalized after being attacked and zip-tied during a brazen robbery March 12. A husband and wife arrived home and were confronted by three men clad in black clothing and masks in the 600 block of Blenfield Place around 9 p.m. One of the men had a handgun, according to Lt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. “The suspects assaulted the husband and wife. They had moderate injuries,” Avila told SGV CityWatch. They were hospitalized for bruising and contusions. The suspect zip-tied the hands and feet of the couple and went in the home where the couple's children were. The suspects demanded the locations to a safe and some jewelry. They eventually escaped watches and bracelets, Avila told SGV CityWatch.
One of the suspects threatened one of the children with the handgun, Avila told SGV CityWatch. “Apparently, the suspects knew the names of the victims,” Avila told SGV CityWatch. The robbery investigation will be handed over to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A suspect simulated a handgun and demanded cash, escaping with cash from Chase Bank Saturday morning, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. A 9-1-1 call was made from Chase Bank, 334 S. Diamond Bar Blvd., at 10:57 a.m. January 4. The suspect fled with $1,000, according to Sgt. Anderson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Roughly 20 minutes after the robbery occurred, deputies located a grey Mustang they believed was connected to the robbery. It was followed from near West Mission Boulevard and South Huntington Street to East Phillips Boulevard and South San Antonio Avenue.
The driver and vehicle were not involved in the robbery, Anderson said. The suspect was described as a white man in his 50s, Anderson said. A Sheriff’s crime broadcast further described the suspect as wearing a grey hat, grey hooded sweatshirt and he sported a reddish beard and mustache. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - Three men fled with an undisclosed amount of money after they pepper-sprayed their victims during a daytime robbery Tuesday. The robbery occurred in the Walmart lot, 1180 S. Diamond Bar Blvd., just before 1:20 p.m. after the couple left a nearby bank March 26. Two suspects exited a red four-door car and began robbing the couple. The husband fought back, according to Lt. Avila of the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sherriff’s Station. One of the suspects released pepper spray during the robbery. The money was inside some kind of case or bag when it was taken.
The husband may have received abrasions after fighting back. Medics were called to the scene, Avila said. The two suspects entered a waiting vehicle and fled south towards the 60 freeway. All three suspects were described as Black men. The robbery occurred around 12:50 a.m. at the restaurant, 1383 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. At least two suspects were armed. All men wore dark, hooded sweatshirts and the hoods covered the suspects’ faces except their eyes, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station. All four suspects, described as Black men in their mid-20s, fled eastbound on foot. It is unknown if the suspects entered a vehicle. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A man was severely beaten, left bloodied and semi-conscious in a residential neighborhood Sunday night after being attacked by two suspects who took cash from him, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. Deputies responded to the 2200 block of Evergreen Springs Drive around 10 p.m. January 6. Possibly two men approached the victim, beat him and stole $20,000, a cellphone and his wallet, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast.
“He [the victim] was pretty bloodied up when we got there,” said Sgt. D. Luter of the Industry Sheriff’s Station. “There were no weapons. It was all hands and feet.”
Deputies are still acquiring details, but believe the victim may have come home with casino winnings. The suspects may have followed the victim home, Luter said. The victim was hospitalized. The two men held up the Circle K, 504 N. Diamond Bar Blvd. around 1:20 a.m. October 18. One of the men was armed with what was described to deputies as a green handgun, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station crime broadcast. The suspects took off with $100, a deputy said. One suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and stood 6 feet 1 inch tall. The second suspect also wore a black hooded sweatshirt. He stood 5 feet 7 inches tall. The two men fled in a white or black Sedan. The robbery took place at the Chevron gas station, 150 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. March 11 around 1:30 p.m. A man armed with a silver handgun took about $100 to $200 from a Chevron Gas Station about 40 minutes ago. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in a red jacket, red hat, beige pants, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 200 pounds, took the cash and fled the gas station on foot, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station crime broadcast. It is not immediately known if the gun is real or replica. A victim in the robbery noted some type of lighting on the silver handgun. It is not known if it was a laser sight or a stun gun. The suspect fled on foot towards a neighborhood on Palomino Drive.
