The checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location within the Walnut/Diamond Bar Station patrol area beginning at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday morning at 2 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Department. “DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road,” according to the Sheriff’s Department in a written statement.
