Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - Deputies arrested a 45-year-old Chino Hills man who is accused of threatening to shoot up a school after becoming upset he missed his child’s choir performance. Deputies were called by the vice principal to Chaparral Middle School, 1405 Spruce Tree Dr., just after 7:30 p.m. October 17. The suspect missed his child’s performance at a choir concert, causing him to become irate. “It was his son’s recital. He made a statement that he’s going to leave the place and come back with guns to shoot up the school,” according to Lt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station.
Authorities were called after the suspect left the school. Deputies searched and found him at nearby Rainbow Donuts, 1271 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. He was positively identified as the man who allegedly threatened the school, Avila said. The unidentified suspect was booked on suspicion of making threats with intent to terrorize. He was transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be treated for an existing medical issue, Avila said. |
