Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DUARTE - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and later died Wednesday afternoon.
The collision occurred around 5:24 p.m. at Las Lomas Road and Hacienda Drive. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene along with a helicopter, but the arriving copter was cancelled after the pedestrian was pronounced dead, according to Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The driver remained at the scene of the collision, according to Lt Frank Ruiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. Ruiz had limited information and was unsure if distracted or DUI driving was a cause. It was unclear if the pedestrian was jaywalking or in a marked crosswalk. |
