Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK – A suspicious item forced precautionary evacuations of some stores at Altantic Square Monday. The Sheriff’s Arson/Explosives Detail responded to the 2000 block of South Atlantic Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. January 21. The suspicious item was found behind a store, but Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau did not know which store. The unknown item didn't belong to anyone and it was fixed to a wall, according to Lt. Eric Kim of the Monterey Park Police Department. Ralph's was one of the evacuated stores, Kim said. The package was examined and deemed safe. |
