Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A grass fire is being extinguished by several Los Angeles County fire units after a silver compact vehicle went off the eastbound 60 freeway and crashed down an embankment.
The fire is confined to the island area between the eastbound 60 freeway and the Diamond Bar Boulevard offramp, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. At least two ambulances have been requested to treat the injured. The severity of injuries is not immediately known. The No. 4 lane and the off ramp are closed while firefighters work, the California Highway Patrol reports. The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol around 7:20 a.m. July 11. At least one caller reported that a silver sports vehicle was driving erratically before it crashed down the embankment. All occupants in the silver sports vehicle were able to self extricate. A passerby reported that one person with blood on his face was seen sitting on the offramp, according to California Highway patrol traffic logs. |
