Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station will conduct a motorcycle safety operation Wednesday, August 8.
The operation is aimed at curtailing injury and death along streets frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes often occur, deputies said. Deputies will be looking for drivers and motorcycle riders who violate traffic laws. In the last three years, collisions have taken the lives of 1,332 people across Los Angeles County, according to data cited by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “California collision data reveals that primary causes of motorcycle-involved crashes include speeding, unsafe turning and impairment due to alcohol and other drugs by both riders and drivers alike,” deputies said. |
