Peter Guerrero, 48, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Hacienda Boulevard around 8 p.m. August 23. They located a man wounded by gunfire, sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital for treatment but died there, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. It is not yet clear if investigators learned the circumstances that led to the shooting, or if they have a description of a possible suspect. The driver, only described as a man in his 30s, suffered gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He crashed at Valley Boulevard and Trafalgar Avenue and injured multiple people in the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station responded to the scene at 12:45 p.m. The victim was hospitalized and later died from his wounds, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “It should be noted that after the victim was shot, he continued driving and collided with another vehicle,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The other injured people were hospitalized for injuries considered not life threatening. The shooting took place just before midnight in the 400 block of North Tamar Drive. A suspect in a white sedan opened fire on two people. One person was struck and taken to a local hospital, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The male victim struck by gunfire was hit with a single bullet. It is too early to tell the motive for the shooting, Long told SGV CityWatch. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Operation Safe Streets Bureau are handling the investigation. |
