Peter Guerrero, 48, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Hacienda Boulevard around 8 p.m. August 23. They located a man wounded by gunfire, sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital for treatment but died there, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. It is not yet clear if investigators learned the circumstances that led to the shooting, or if they have a description of a possible suspect. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE – A dead man was found between two bungalows at Baldwin Academy Monday morning, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said.
A gun was recovered at the scene, 1616 Griffith Ave. Deputies and firefighters were called ot the scene just after 9 a.m. November 9. The man was described as being between 25 to 30 years old, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A janitor discovered the body. As many as five children were on the closed campus, likely there with employees who were working at the school. Everyone was locked down during the response, Long told SGV CityWatch. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are trying to link this death to call of a man firing a gun nearby at Mullender Avenue and Atwood Street around 10:10 p.m. November 8. The suspect from the Sunday shooting was seen fleeing southbound from Mullender and Atwood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A driver died at the scene after likely suffering a medical emergency, which caused a two-vehicle collision at Amar Road and Willow Ave. Thursday, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. The crash occurred near 13941 Willow Avenue around 1:20 p.m. April 23. The driver was identified as 62-year-old Eugene Rivney, a La Puente resident, according to investigator Ryan Parraz of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
Firefighters told the investigating deputy that Rivney possibly suffered a heart attack which caused the collision, according to Sgt. Sarabia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The true nature of Rivney’s medical emergency will be revealed once an autopsy is completed, Parraz said. Rivney struck another vehicle, but Sarabia did not know if any one else was injured. |
