UPDATE, 11:45 a.m.: The Suspect surrendered and is in custody, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

​LA PUENTE - Crisis negotiators are attempting to get a man barricaded inside a vehicle to peacefully surrender Thursday morning.

The incident apparently began around 9:45 a.m. in the area of Fairgrove Avenue and Sunset Street. The Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau is working with crisis negotiators to bring the situation to a peaceful end, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A supervisor with the Sheriff’s Industry Station was not immediately available to provide details on why the suspect is barricaded.
