Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A man in his 30s was taken to County/USC Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound, a sheriff’s lieutenant said Thursday.
The man was injured just before 6:30 p.m. at La Puente Firing Range, 16418 Valley Blvd., according to Lt. Petrocelli of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “It looks as though it was self-inflicted,” Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. “The only thing that was really evident to us via witnesses and video at the scene, it appears as though it was self-inflicted.” The man’s current condition was not immediately known. The firing range was operational at the time of the shooting and apparently unaffected by the mandatory COVID-19 shutdown ordered by the state of California. “To my understanding, he was using the range as intended up until he turned the weapon on himself,” Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. No one else was harmed at the shooting range. |
