Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A man was wounded by gunfire and a suspect is still at-large, deputies said.
The shooting occurred just before 10:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Gilwood Avenue Monday night. The wounded man is reportedly from a La Puente gang, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The suspect reportedly punched the victim before shooting him. Deputies are at the hospital where the victim is to obtain more information from him, but he is not entirely cooperative, according to Sgt. Jorgensen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, Jorgensen told SGV CityWatch. The suspect fled in a grey Infiniti north on Gilwood Avenue towards Sierra Vista Court. He is described as being 19 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a black t-shirt, black shorts and had a gang tattoo on his neck, according to the Sheriff’s crime broadcast. |
