The crash was reported on Lone Hill Avenue and West Covina Boulevard around 4 p.m. Saturday, October 21. A man and woman were riding the motorcycle. A woman was the only occupant of the SUV, according to Sgt. Rojas of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station. Rojas did not have an updated condition for any of the victims. Traffic in all directions at the intersection is being diverted. SAN DIMAS - All westbound lanes of the 210 freeway east of San Dimas Avenue are closed for an unknown duration after a reported collision involving law enforcement. Information is lacking at the time this post was launched, but there was an initial report that a police motorcycle officer was involved in the collision, according to Peter Nicholson of the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center. CHP officers were dispatched to the crash around 4:48 a.m. The extent of injuries to the officer, as well as the agency the officer serves was not immediately known. It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash. The No. 3 and 4 lanes of the westbound 210 freeway west of San Dimas Avenue will be closed for possibly two hours during cleanup and an investigation. The van overturned and began catching fire around 4:22 a.m. in the slow lane. An early report indicated the van collided with a big rig, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 4:37 a.m. the solo occupant inside the van was declared dead. Firefighters will remain in scene for at least an hour for cleanup and to assist with body removal, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. Once he was medically cleared for his head injury after being subdued, Saldivar was booked on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He is being held in lieu of $2 million bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in court March 30. SAN DIMAS - A woman was fatally stabbed in a San Dimas neighborhood Thursday afternoon, deputies said. The stabbing took place in the 1400 block of Renwick Street just after 1:30 p.m. March 25. The woman died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. According to reports from the scene, a woman was possibly out dog walking when she was stabbed. The fire has burned as many as 50 acres and is being driven mostly by wind. It is burning near the westbound I-10 freeway west of Kellogg Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A second alarm has been requested, doubling resources at the scene. Fixed-wing aircraft also en route. The fire is burning behind 444 E. Bonita Ave. The fire is also affecting nearby trees. There is no threat to any homes or businesses, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was first dispatched at 6:07 p.m. The reservoir is a concrete structure with no water and only vegetation inside. Access inside to battle the flames is difficult, according to firefighters. UPDATE, 5:44 a.m.: The San Dimas Fire has reached about 60 acres and has the potential to scorch 100 acres. Los Angeles County firefighters are working in unified command with the U.S. Forest Service. UPDATE, 4:41 a.m.: The brush fire burning above San Dimas/La Verne is holding at 20 acres. It is burning into Angeles National Forest territory. The U.S. Forest Service is on scene. SAN DIMAS - An estimated 10-acre brushfire is moving fast and uphill in the San Dimas foothills Friday morning. The fire is burning in the area of North San Dimas Canyon Road and Golden Hills Road November 6. Three helicopters have been added to the full brushfire response, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. SAN DIMAS - A potentially-armed suspect is hiding somewhere near the 57 freeway north of Arrow Highway after fleeing a vehicle pursued by Pomona police. Deputies responded to the area of Highland Place and Amelia Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. after being notified of a Pomona police pursuit That exited the northbound 57 freeway at Arrow Highway. Two other suspects are in custody and only the one remains at large, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. According to preliminary information, Pomona officers were possibly conducting surveillance on the driver of the suspect vehicle when he fled from officers, initiating the chase.
