The suspects entered 4C’s Finecraft Jewelers, 307 Yale Ave., just before Noon Tuesday. Employees were immediately sprayed with a chemical substance that incapacitated them, according to the Claremont Police Department. Tools were used to smash open display cases. The dollar amount on the loss is apparently undetermined. All three suspects, described as Black males, fled north after running from the store. They are believed to have escaped in a waiting vehicle. One suspect wore a black jacket, black pants with white print on the upper thigh and green gloves. A second suspect wore a black jacket, white shirt, black pants and green gloves. The third suspect wore a black jacket, and red pants with white stripes. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - Three teenagers were tracked to a Pomona home and arrested after two of the suspects allegedly robbed their victim of property during a scheduled transaction.
Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old were arrested after the victim gave officers a description of the suspects and their vehicle, which led investigators to Pomona, according to the Claremont Police Department. The victim was robbed of the property that was intended to be sold around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of West First Street and South Indian Hill Boulevard said Jason Walters, lieutenant for the Claremont Police Department. Two 17-year-olds met the victim and during the intended transaction, a firearm was brandished. The suspects demanded the property which was surrendered and the two suspects fled to a waiting vehicle, Walters said. The suspects were located at a home in the 1400 block of East Holt Boulevard. Eventually, two suspects emerged from the home and entered a vehicle which was driven away from the location. Officers moved in and performed a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle yielded evidence tied to the crime. Both 17-year-olds were arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery, Walters sad. A subsequent search of the suspect home yielded additional evidence tied to the robbery, including the property taken at gunpoint, Walters said. A 15-year-old boy inside the home was also arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery. One of the teens was taken to the Central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles, while a second teen was released to the custody of a parent or guardian. A third teen was released from custody, pending additional investigation, Walters said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - A man wielding a skateboard was arrested Saturday and accused of assaulting a naked man sleeping in some bushes.
The assault was reported near the Metrolink station parking lot, 100 E. First St., August 15 before 7 p.m. A witness reported a naked man running from the location, blood running down his face, according to the Claremont Police Department. The naked man was chased a man swinging a skateboard, the latter had attempted to steal the other’s property by striking him in the head multiple times. “Both subjects were detained and LA County Fire responded to provide medical aid. The victim had a deep laceration on his head due to being struck with the skateboard by the suspect,” the Claremont Police Department said. The naked man was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. The unidentified suspect was booked on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect was also listed as being on active probation for the controlling charge of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, Claremont Police said. Indian Hill Blvd., around 9:41 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect entered and lifted his sweatshirt to show 5he handle of a large knife, according to the Claremont Police Department. The employee complied with demands to open the register. The suspect took off with an unknown amount of cash and fled into a waiting black two-door sports car with a modified exhaust and fled west on Arrow Highway, Claremont Police said.
The suspect is a Hispanic man. He stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, has an average build, wore a light grey hooded sweatshirt, a surgical mask, gloves and blue jeans. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - Three people were caught Saturday at the end of a pursuit minutes after having robbed a pharmacy, police said. The suspects are accused of robbing Claremont Pharmacy, 358 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at gunpoint around 11:09 a.m., taking pharmaceuticals and cash. Arriving officers witnessed the suspects driving away and followed, according to the Claremont Police Department. The three suspects abandoned their vehicle at the East I-10 Freeway on ramp at Vinton Avenue in Pomona. All three suspects were caught a short distance away, Claremont Police said. The property taken from the pharmacy was recovered, as well as a 9-millimeter handgun taken in a Gardena residential burglary, Claremont Police said. Dominique Dewann Thompson, 30, was booked on suspicion of armed robbery, kidnapping, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
Curtis Wayne Houston, 34, was booked on suspicion of armed robbery, kidnapping, vehicle pursuit, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance. Eugene Darryl Halcromb, 30, was booked on suspicion of armed robbery, kidnapping, resisting arrest, possession of a stolen gun, and possession of a controlled substance. |
