A gun was recovered at the scene, 1616 Griffith Ave. Deputies and firefighters were called ot the scene just after 9 a.m. November 9. The man was described as being between 25 to 30 years old, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A janitor discovered the body. As many as five children were on the closed campus, likely there with employees who were working at the school. Everyone was locked down during the response, Long told SGV CityWatch. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are trying to link this death to call of a man firing a gun nearby at Mullender Avenue and Atwood Street around 10:10 p.m. November 8. The suspect from the Sunday shooting was seen fleeing southbound from Mullender and Atwood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK – The office of County Supervisor Hilda Solis and the City of La Puente have partnered to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who shot and killed a young boy last year. The two $10,000 cash rewards will be announced as a press conference that will also feature family of 10-year-old Enrique Sebastian Falcon who was gunned down inside his family vehicle May 17, 2020, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Falcon was accompanied by his family in the vehicle as it was being driven at Hacienda Boulevard and Amar Road in La Puente when gunfire from a nearby vehicle rang out, striking the boy.

A $10,000 reward is offered in the murder of Enrique Sebastian Falcon, who was was fatally wounded in the area of Hacienda Boulevard and Amar Road. Falcon was in a vehicle with family members when he was wounded, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. An unknown suspect in a dark colored sedan opened fire. The boy was struck in the upper torso, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The boy was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, but was eventually transported to County/USC where he died, Koerner said. Deputies initially responded to the area of North Fifth Street and Temple Avenue where the victim ended up. But soon after responding, deputies learned that the shooting took place near the Kentucky Fried Chicken, 939 N. Hacienda Blvd., where they found evidence of the shooting, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A driver died at the scene after likely suffering a medical emergency, which caused a two-vehicle collision at Amar Road and Willow Ave. Thursday, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. The crash occurred near 13941 Willow Avenue around 1:20 p.m. April 23. The driver was identified as 62-year-old Eugene Rivney, a La Puente resident, according to investigator Ryan Parraz of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
Firefighters told the investigating deputy that Rivney possibly suffered a heart attack which caused the collision, according to Sgt. Sarabia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The true nature of Rivney’s medical emergency will be revealed once an autopsy is completed, Parraz said. Rivney struck another vehicle, but Sarabia did not know if any one else was injured. The contents fire burned inside a single-story, single-family home in the 15000 block of East Ragus and was reported at 6:53 a.m. March 1, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims. One patient was found in full arrest, according to firefighters at the scene.
The patient was later declared deceased. A Sheriff’s homicide detective will be sent to the scene to investigate the death, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The fire was knocked down at 7:02 a.m., Sims said. Deputies found two injured men in the 400 block of Tonopah Avenue June 30. One was pronounced dead at the scene, a second survived his wounds and was hospitalized, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Investigators did not specify if the surviving man also suffered gunshot wounds. A suspect description was not given. Alejandra Hernandez, 24, was named by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She died at a residence. Her city of residence, however, was not listed. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
The shooting was reported in the 1300 block of Glenshaw Drive near Janetdale Street around 12:50 p.m.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:50 p.m. They cleared the scene at 1:12 p.m., according to Captain Ron Singleton of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The circumstances that may have led to the shooting were undisclosed. |
