The boy reportedly fell 20 feet and received undisclosed injuries. The teen was hoisted from the scene and flown to nearby Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. Los Angeles County Firefighters were dispatched around 2:48 p.m. The Sheriff’s tactical rescue team, the Special Enforcement Bureau, arrived to hoist the teen out of the wild. The Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team also responded to assist. Marcos DeLao was last seen Thursday around 5:30 p.m. at Hillcrest and Myrtle. Police have not stated what makes DeLao a critical missing child. The victim was approached while he withdrew $300 in cash from the drive-thru at an undisclosed bank in the 600 block of West Huntington Drive just after 9 p.m. The suspect pointed a handgun at the driver, Monrovia Police said. The victim surrendered the $300 withdrawn, plus additional cash he had in his pocket, Monrovia Police said. The suspect fled the area and a search by arriving officers turned up empty. A suspect description was not available. The suspects walked into the T-Mobile, 680 W. Huntington Dr., around 6:45 p.m. They grabbed an unknown number of cellphones and fled the store, said Lt. Patty Newton of the Monrovia Police Department. The suspects, described as males in their teens to early 20s, fled into a four-door silver or grey sports vehicle which was driven south from the store, Newton said. No further description of the teens was available. Roger Gregory Creedon, 20, was arrested more than an hour after officers responded to a home burglary call in the 300 block of West Foothill Boulevard. Creedon is accused of kicking in the rear door to and entered the home, Monrovia Police said. “The suspect was holding a knife and when he saw the resident inside the home the suspect ran outside,” Monrovia Police said in a written statement. Police arrived, searched for and found Creedon. He was arrested at 12:49 p.m. Creedon was booked on suspicion of brandishing a weapon and burglary. Four of the five vehicles had a window smashed to gain entry, while the fifth vehicle was entered by unknown means throughout the 300 block of North Canyon, 100 block of North Melrose, 200 block of East Olive and 700 block of South Mayflower, Monrovia Police said. Between 8:55 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. March 28, officers were called to investigate the burglaries as the vehicle owners made the discoveries, Monrovia Police said. A duffle bag, tools and other miscellaneous items were taken. |
