SAN DIMAS - A driver crashed into a power pole early Sunday, causing severe damage to the pole and outages nearby.
The crash occurred on Arrow Highway between Walnut Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road just after 5 a.m. October 27. Deputies are redirecting traffic.
Live wires fell across traffic lanes and briefly ignited grass on a center median across Arrow Highway, according to Sgt. Michael McGrattan of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station.
The 23-year-old driver was reportedly uninjured, but she was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, McGrattan said.
Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported two people were hospitalized in the crash with one being taken to a trauma center for treatment.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, McGrattan said.
Southern California Edison Reports as many as 60 customers are without power.
