The suspect, whom the investigators have not publicly identified, reportedly shot at the deputies in the 15500 block of Loukelton Street around 6:21 p.m. May 13. Deputies have not provided details on the reason behind the search warrant. The suspect surrendered at 7 p.m. Deputies worked the remainder of the night at the scene of the shooting. LA PUENTE - A shooting between two men at a La Puente strip mall Saturday ended with one man dying after being hospitalized. Investigators revealed that the fatal victim, a 26-year-old man, and his adversary exchanged gunfire after the victim exited a store at the strip mall in the 13900 block of Amar Road April 24. While the Sheriff’s Information Bureau continues to state that the shooting took place at 6:53 p.m., Sgt. Shackleford of the Sheriff’s Industry Station stated that the first call of the shooting came in at 5:58 p.m. Dispatch information from the Los Angeles County Fire Department corroborated the earlier response time, with firefighters being dispatched at 6 p.m. “Investigators learned that the victim exited a store inside of the strip mall and was immediately assaulted by another male Hispanic. They engaged in a shoot-out and the victim was struck. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau in a written statement. The suspect is reportedly unknown at this time. LA PUENTE - Deputies believe a shooting that occurred Saturday evening that wounded one person was gang-related. The shooting took place on Amar Road and Ardilla just before 6 p.m. April 24. The victim, only described as a male, was taken to an LA area hospital for treatment. His current condition was not immediately known, according to Sgt. Shackleford of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A suspect was seen fleeing the location after gunfire rang out. Deputies arrived on scene and learned that the shooting was likely gang-related, according to a crime broadcast. Shackleford did not immediately know what led deputies to believe the shooting was getting-related. The shooting occurred just before 10:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Gilwood Avenue Monday night. The wounded man is reportedly from a La Puente gang, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The suspect reportedly punched the victim before shooting him. Deputies are at the hospital where the victim is to obtain more information from him, but he is not entirely cooperative, according to Sgt. Jorgensen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, Jorgensen told SGV CityWatch. The suspect fled in a grey Infiniti north on Gilwood Avenue towards Sierra Vista Court. He is described as being 19 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a black t-shirt, black shorts and had a gang tattoo on his neck, according to the Sheriff’s crime broadcast. The victim was taken to County/USC Medical Center, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Radio Traffic. A newer-model 4-door light grey Nissan Maxima with tinted windows was seen fleeing the location northbound on Rama Drive. Doctors operated on the victim who is expected to survive, according to Lt. A mother, father and their boy arrived home in the 14200 block of Nelson Avenue around 9:15 p.m. As the mother and father exited their vehicle, a dark-colored sedan pulled up. A man within the sedan yelled “Puente” and gunfire rang out, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The mother and father drove their wounded boy to an area hospital where he was treated for his wounds. The boy was later released, but he will require further medical care, the Information Bureau said. No suspect description was given. A mother and her boy had just arrived home after going shopping for food January 13. A gunman in a vehicle drove by and opened fire towards the woman in the vehicle. The child was struck by gunfire and was transported to an area hospital by family members, according to Sgt. Pulito of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “He was in stable condition when he got to the hospital and was later discharged,” Pulito told SGV CityWatch. The shooting unfolded in the 14200 block of Nelson Avenue around 9:15 p.m. Pulito did not know if the woman, or a specific home nearby was the intended target. No one else was injured. Pulito did not have a vehicle, or suspect description available. A Hispanic man in his late 20s received as many as four gunshot wounds And was possibly taken to the hospital by a friend or family member January 4, according to Sgt. Molina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies were informed of the shooting around 8:30 p.m. Being told that the shooting occurred in the area of East Amar Road and Echelon Avenue, they descended to the location to search for evidence of the shooting. Deputies did not find spent shell casings, but did locate some blood at the scene, Molina told SGV CityWatch. The victim was uncooperative with deputies. A suspect description was unavailable, Molina told SGV CityWatch. Authorities released photos of two vehicles involved in the murder of Luis Rivera, 40. A black Chevrolet SUV and a red Ford Lincoln SUV were at the scene of the shooting July 1, 2019, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Rivera died at the scene of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
