The teen, who remains unidentified due to his age, was identified by Covina Police detectives after the post was made public. School Resource Officers and detectives located the teen at his Glendora home the following day and arrested, Covina Police said in a written statement. The teen’s home was searched and no weapons were found, Covina Police said. The teen is a student of the Charter Oak Unified School District. The teen was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He was taken to Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center. The fire is burning in the 800 block of North Henton Avenue. Firefighters have initiated a first-alarm structure fire response, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. The fire as of now is just confined to the vegetation. The fire was first dispatched at 3:41 p.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor COVINA - A motorcyclist died at the scene of a head-on crash on Reeder Avenue and Puente Street May 15.
The rider was northbound on Reeder Avenue around 8:46 p.m. when the motorcycle possibly drifted into southbound lanes and into the path of a BMW, according to the Covina Police Department. The motorcycle and BMW hit head on. The rider sustained major injuries and died at the scene by Los Angeles County firefighters. The driver of the BMW, a woman, was uninjured. She was not suspected of DUI, Covina Police said. The rider’s identity has not been made public yet, pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor COVINA - A man gained access to an apartment courtyard Friday, dropped his pants and began pleasuring himself in front of two women, Police said.
The incident was reported around 4:53 p.m. in the 300 block of East Puente Avenue. The man dropped his pants to his kneed in front of the women and began pleasuring himself, said Lt. Trevor Gaumer of the Covina Police Department. The suspect, 25-year-old Christopher Alas, fled from the courtyard, but was found a short distance later by Covina officers. Not only id the women positively identify him, Alas admitted to the crime, Gaumer said. Alas was also found in possession of a straw that reportedly contained methamphetamine residue, Gaumer said. Alas was booked on suspicion of indecent exposure and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alas is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail. |
