Julian Teltscher, 20, died from Diphenhydramine toxicity. His death was ruled a suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. A decomposing body was discovered by a gardener clearing some residential brush near area of an elementary school. The discovery was made in the 500 block of East Thelborn Street. First responders were called around 3:11 p.m., according to Lt. Anthony Zavala of the Covina Police Department. “Based on the decomposition of the body, it looks like he might have been there a while,” Zavala told SGV CityWatch. A resident driving by the scene observed what appeared to be a body covered up on the sidewalk, a coroner van, yellow crime scene tape around the entire residential property and a large police presence. The body was obscured by brush at a home across from Barranca Elementary School, 727 S. First responders were sent to the 1100 block of North Conwell Avenue just before 6 a.m. Sunday, August 7. Life-saving measures were used to try and revive the infant, but she was ultimately declared dead at the scene at 6:14 a.m., according to the Covina Police Department. The mother was out of state. The infant and the infant’s 4-year-old and 1-year-old siblings were being watched by a babysitter, according to the Covina Police Department. Detectives already have, or are soon serving a search warrant at the home to collect potential evidence in this investigation. Detectors are working with the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services and Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. Few details are available, but firefighters were called by Covina Police officers to the 400 block of South Barranca Avenue south of East Puente Street at 2:54 p.m. April 11, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Video provided to SGV CityWatch shows a lifeless body of a shirtless man laying on what appears to be an access road near the wash behind apartments in the neighborhood. The man has yet to be identified. Next of kin have yet to be notified, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. While the coroner has not yet identified the man, a memorial honoring him identified him as Daniel Matthew Diaz, 25. It is unclear how Diaz died. He reportedly suffered head trauma. A 10-year resident of the neighborhood described the day the body was found. “I had passed by and noticed that cops were blocking off the area and within 30 minutes it had yellow tape. Ambulance and paramedics were dispatched but left right away and Covina police officers stayed looking around for evidence,” according to the resident who asked that her name not be used. “When I was driving by there I had seen a young man digging in trash bins. I have a feeling it might be the same one. Because I drove by there again 40 mins after seeing him and there was already police blocking off the area,” the resident told SGV CityWatch. “We never see anything like this around these streets. It’s quiet around here but have been seeing a lot of homelessness lately. It’s sad.” The coroner will determine cause of death. Jwan Clinton, 42, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. His cause of death was deferred, pending additional investigation. The body was located in a parking lot on the Grand Avenue side of the park. Officers were called to the parking lot of Wingate Park, 735 N. Glendora Ave., around 8:51 p.m. December 18 to a man down and bleeding from the head. Covina officers arrived and located the victim. Los Angeles County Firefighters arrived and declared the man dead at 9:09 p.m., according to Lt. Tony Zavala of the Covina Police Department in a previous interview. “There was some head trauma, but we don’t know if that’s a result from a fall, or if he was the victim of some type of crime,” Zavala told SGV CityWatch. COVINA - Traffic lanes have reopened after a pickup truck crashed and came to rest on the right shoulder embankment on the I-10 freeway just west of Via Verde Saturday morning. A tan Chevrolet pickup truck crashed Just before 7:30 a.m. April 24 on the eastbound I-10 freeway. The driver is reportedly the only person found inside the crashed pickup, according to the California Highway Patrol. They were possibly as many as three other vehicles stopped in the center divider and on the right shoulder near the crash, but it is not clear yet if those vehicles were involved in a collision. The driver’s body was found partially hanging outside of the truck, but firefighters were reluctant to remove the driver until the coroner conducts an investigation, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. Firefighters were called to 1138 W. McGill St., at 1:25 a.m. to a single-story home where the fire was burning, according to Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The body of a dead man was found in a burned RV, according to Captain John Kades of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The fire was knocked down at 1:49 a.m., Peters told SGV CityWatch. Coroner investigators are still trying to positively identify the victim, Kades told SGV CityWatch. Mario Magana, 25, a known Primera Flats gang member, was nabbed at the Friendly Hills Inn, 2146 San Gabriel Blvd., in Rosemead June 9. He was booked on suspicion of murder, according to Covina Police Sgt. Rodriguez in a written statement. Magana was tracked to the Rosemead motel where three other people were staying in the suspect’s room. The other three were arrested on unrelated charges, Rodriguez said. Magana is scheduled for a court appearance Thursday, June 11. The man killed in the shooting, Daniel Cisneros, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. He died from a gunshot wound to the back. His death was ruled a homicide, according to a coroner report. Cisneros’ brother Rick Ortega, 26, was arrested May 31 — the day of the shooting. Police did not state specifically Ortega’s roll in the shooting death.

Davis did not know in a prior interview what led to the argument, but said there was evidence that multiple people were firing at each other. Cisneros died at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Police were called to the scene at 12:22 p.m. Cisneros was found on a breezeway between two apartment buildings, according to Sgt. Keith Sutherland of the Covina Police Department. A handgun was recovered at the scene. At least four people were involved in the incident, Sutherland told SGV CityWatch. Two homes were struck by gunfire.
