Police were called to a report of a racing vehicle near the 600 block of West Alcross Street around 9:30 p.m. Police detained the occupants inside the brown Cadillac CTS while a fourth man associated with the suspects fled, according to Sgt. Keith Sutherland of the Covina Police Department. Sutherland did not know where the vehicle was stolen from and when.
Police inspected residential yards during an hours-long search, that included two Covina Police K9s. Glendora Police officers assisted with containment, Sutherland said. The suspects were booked on suspicion of grand theft auto, Sutherland said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - 25 pounds of marijuana, 12,000 Xanax pills and 7.5 ounces of cocaine were located after Covina detectives served a search warrant at an Azusa apartment complex Thursday. The search warrant was served as part of an investigation stemming from the arrest of a teen at a Covina high school recently where a student was caught carrying Xanax, according to Sgt. Zavala of the Covina Police Department. The search warrant was served around 4 p.m. October 17 in the 400 block of North San Gabriel Avenue.
The teen’s arrest led to Thursday’s search warrant, Zavala said. Primary suspect Isaac Martinez, 23, was arrested in his Azusa apartment, along with a second man whom Zavala declined to identify. Martinez was booked on suspicion of sale or transportation of a controlled substance. |
