 Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - A man and woman are being sought after vandalizing machines at a laundromat recently, taking coins and causing roughly $1,000 in damage. The crimes occurred May 12 and May 16 and were caught on camera. In one video, a woman is seen opening two coin boxes and quickly taking money. In all, $200 was stolen. The locked coin boxes on six machines were damaged, according to one of the owners. The laundromat sits in the Edgewood Shopping Center, 251 E. Gladstone St. “We had to replace the locks because they had broken them. It was costly and unfortunate,” according to one of the owners. “They actually only got into two of the boxes but damaged many while trying to get into the locked boxes. Six machines were damaged.” The husband and wife team who have run the laundromat for 27 years have not had too many problems, except for some graffiti and homeless issues. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - A juvenile was wounded, but is expected to survive injuries sustained in a shooting Tuesday night.
The juvenile was shot outside of 260 E. Newburgh Street. First responders were sent to the location at 9:32 p.m., according to Jennifer Wu, Azusa Police Department public information officer. The juvenile was hospitalized and last listed in stable condition. The identity of the suspect is reportedly still unknown. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - Three people in a vehicle were unscathed after being shot at by a driver who allegedly followed them from Glendora after a confrontation May 3.
Aaron Foley, 28, was identified as the gun-toting suspect. He and his vehicle were located in Covina May 5 and he was taken into custody without incident. The shooting took place in the 600 block of North Alameda Avenue around 5 p.m. The three victims claimed they and Foley were involved in an altercation where hostile glances were exchanged in Glendora, according to the Azusa Police Department. Foley, a Montclair resident, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder. County booking records were not readily available. Detectives are searching for additional evidence in this shooting.
