Irwindale officers were busy patrolling a business complex in the 15500 block of Arrow Highway around 12:17 a.m. when they found a suspicious vehicle occupied by four men. The vehicle was discovered to have been stolen from Pasadena June 17, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department. A search of the silver Toyota Camry uncovered methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia, Gatto said. Juan Jesus Campos-Vasquez, a 28-year-old Pasadena man, Anthony Medina-Olvera, a 23-year-old Alhambra man and 20-year-old David Emanuel Nicasio-Garcia of Pasadena were all taken into custody. All three men were booked at the Glendora Police station. The fourth subject was released at the scene, Gatto said. The stolen vehicle was recovered. The vault fire was reported at 7:36 p.m. in the 400 block of South Motor Avenue. Firefighters were dispatched, but did not report seeing smoke or flames once they arrived, according to Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangel of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Southern California Edison, which provides electricity to this particular area, has no estimated time of restoration. No one was injured, Rangel said. The repaving project this time will force the closure of northbound Irwindale Avenue from Cypress Avenue to Arrow Highway from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The intersections of Irwindale Avenue at Martinez Street, Irwindale at Peppertree Lane, Irwindale at Central Street, Irwindale at Calle De Paseo and Irwindale at Calle De Norte will be partially accessible during construction, according to the Irwindale Police Department. Irwindale Avenue at Calle Breceda will be fully closed. Detours may direct traffic to either Vincent Avenue or Azusa Canyon Road. The work is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to the listed closure, the intersections of Irwindale Avenue at Arrow Highway, Hidalgo Street, Juarez Street, Tapia Street and Cypress Street will be fully or partially closed as well, according to the Irwindale Police Department. Detours will direct southbound traffic to Vincent Avenue or Azusa Canyon Road. Northbound traffic will remain open. Residents of Hidalgo Street and Juarez Street will still have access through the affected intersections at Irwindale Avenue during the work, Irwindale Police said. A public work representative from the City of Irwindale will be on site during the scheduled work hours. |
