Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor IRWINDALE - A motorcyclist died after colliding with a Honda Civic on Arrow Highway Friday evening.
The crash was reported to first responders on Arrow Highway at Morada Street around 7:10 p.m. August 18. The rider on a 2021 Honda Rebel was westbound on Arrow Highway. The motorcycle crashed into the 2014 Honda Civic, which was turning west onto Arrow from southbound Morada Street, according to the Irwindale Police Department. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. He was only described as a male adult. The driver of the Honda Civic remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It is not yet clear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Arrow Highway from Vincent Avenue to Ayon Avenue was closed for five hours during an investigation by the Irwindale Police Department, which was assisted by the Baldwin Park, Azusa and Glendora police departments. One person is detained, but not under arrest yet in the incident. It is not immediately clear if any ballistic evidence was found at the scene to corroborate the alleged victim’s claim of a shooting, according to Officer Alexander Ramondo of the California Highway Patrol Southern Division. The CHP was called to the off ramp from the east 210 freeway to Irwindale Avenue at 7:55 a.m. July 1. No one was injured. According to preliminary details, a road rage incident occurred and as both the alleged victim and suspect stopped on the off ramp, the victim reported walked to the suspect to confront him, Ramondo told SGV CityWatch. “The victim claimed the suspect brandished a gun and fired,” Ramondo told SGV CityWatch. The off ramp was closed and taped off while the CHP, with assistance from the Irwindale and Azusa police departments, investigated the incident. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor IRWINDALE - Investigators are attempting to track down the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian who later died of his injuries Tuesday morning.
Based on the evidence and witness accounts gathered at the scene, the pedestrian was struck in northbound lanes of Irwindale Avenue at the 210 freeway around 5:28 a.m February 9, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department. The driver of a grey 2015-2017 Ford F-150 Raptor fled the scene. The truck should have front end damage on the right side, Irwindale Police said. First responders found the male victim on the pavement. He suffered significant traumatic Injuries. Firefighters treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a nearby trauma center. He later succumbed to his injuries, Gatto said. Firefighters were called by a passerby who reported seeing the man already down in lanes of traffic at 5:26 a.m. Traffic lanes on Irwindale Avenue at the 210 freeway were mostly closed for about six hours while members of the Irwindale Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit processed the scene with help from the Covina Police Department and Azusa Police Department. The victim’s personal belongings, including his shoes, were left strewn across the roadway. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - A man and woman were arrested Monday After law Enforcement located a stolen truck seen leaving an Azusa motel.
The suspects were found in a truck reported stolen from Huntington Park February 16, according to Rudy Gatto, Sergeant with the Irwindale Police Department. Arrested were George Albert Sandoval, A 41-year-old Norwalk resident, and Jacqueline Gabrielle Osegueda, A 37-year-old Baldwin Park woman. And Irwindale police detective and detectives from the Task Force for Regional Auto Theft Prevention , a Task force made up of regional law-enforcement personnel, located the stolen truck in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, 117 N. Azusa Ave. Both Sandoval, the driver, and Osegueda Left the motel. Irwindale officers assisted by Azusa police and a Pasadena police helicopter stopped the truck and the suspects were arrested without further incident. Both suspects were booked on suspicion of occupying a stolen vehicle. Osegueda Was additionally charged with possession of narcotics And possession of narcotics paraphernalia, Gatto said. Sandoval also had a no-bail warrant. |
